About

I am a UK based freelance photographer with over 15 years professional experience. My skills and passion lie in travel photography with a particular love of shooting street portraiture and landscapes. I travel extensively with my work to undertake both commercial and personal projects. My commercial travel work often sees me shooting a wide range of subject matter which has allowed me to develop a broad range of skills within this genre. I have experience in photographing luxury villas, five star hotels and fine dining as well as shooting smaller, more quirky holiday lets, local culture and landscapes.

One of the best things about travel is the food. I have covered a wide range of cuisine including gourmet restaurants, street food, markets, local food producers and ingredients. This experience of shooting food has led me to work closely with marketing agencies, food guides, restaurants and hotels back in the UK where I photograph food on a regular basis. It has become another genre of photography that I love to work in. I was recently shortlisted for the prestigious Pink Lady Food Awards 2019. My home city of Brighton on the south coast has a bustling community of creatives and a thriving tourism industry. It’s a fantastic place to live, and allows me the opportunity to continue working locally photographing food and interiors for the hospitality industry

My Background…

I was born in Scotland but spent my early years growing up in Perth on the west coast of Australia where I developed my love of the ocean, wide open spaces and beautiful landscapes. During my childhood I also travelled in Asia, living in Kuala Lumpur for a short while at the age of 6. Experiencing different countries and cultures whilst I was young was an influence that helped me develop a keen observational eye and an interest in travel that has stayed with me ever since. After emigrating back to the UK I spent my teenage years in the Cotswolds, picking up my first camera in my late teens which eventually led to me achieving a BA (hons) degree at Brighton University in Editorial Photography.
